FamilyFlow — Privacy Policy

FamilyFlow ("the app", "we") helps families share and balance household chores. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Who we are

What we collect

• Account details — your email address and a password, used to sign you in. Passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
• Family content — the family name and invite code, member profiles (name, colour, emoji), the chores you create and schedule, who they're assigned to and when they're completed, your self-reported paid-work percentage, game results, and the appreciation ("thank-you") you send within your family.
• Technical data — standard request information (such as timestamps) handled by our backend provider to operate and secure the service.

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or device sensor data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

How your data is used

• To provide the app: store your family's chores and sync them in real time across the devices of people in your family.
• To authenticate you and keep your family's data private to your family.
• We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on Supabase (a hosted PostgreSQL platform), in the European Union (Ireland) region. Access is restricted by row-level security so that each family can only read and write its own data.

Sharing

Your family content is visible to other members of your family (anyone who has joined using your invite code). We share data with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) solely to run the service. We may disclose data if required by law.

Family members without their own account

You can add members (for example, children) who do not have a login. Only their name, colour, and emoji are stored, and only an adult account holder can add or remove them. Please add others' details only with their knowledge and consent.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account at any time in the app: Family tab → Delete account. This removes your account and your member profile; if you are the last member of a family, that family and its data are deleted too.
• You can edit or remove members, chores, and other content directly in the app.
• To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, email us at the address above.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, the associated data described above is removed from our active database.

Children

FamilyFlow is intended for use by adults managing a household. Accounts (with email and password) are intended to be created by adults. We do not knowingly collect login credentials from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
